We are delighted to be taking applications for 'Big 'Diff Energy!' and our
festival competition, 'Future Icons'.
The Gala Show and Sunday Speakeasy are being cast by invitation only.

There is no fee to enter and all successful applicants will be paid.

You are free to apply to both shows!

CLOSING DATE - 18th February 2024
All applicants will be notified of the outcome by March 1st 2024

  • Application is by video. Rehearsal footage is fine but it must show the full act in costume and make-up so we can see how brilliant you are! Video links only please, no downloads. Please ensure that links are not password protected.
  • All styles of burlesque are welcome.
  • Unfortunately we can't accommodate fire or ariel at the venue. Pole can be considered, please contact us if you'd like more information. 
  • Please keep mess to a minimum!
  • Acts should be no longer than 5 minutes.
  • If you are worried you may have potential barriers to performing, have additional needs, or would like to talk anything through before applying please get in touch. We are here to assist and showcase how fabulous you are!
  • There is disabled parking on site. Accessibility information for the venue can be found here. 
  • There is no place at our festival for racism, homophobia, transphobia, ablism, ageism, sexism, classism or any other troll behaviour. Audience members or artists who do not abide by this will be removed from the festival. This is a safe, inclusive space for all sparkly bodies!

We're kicking off the festival with a celebration of burlesque in Wales, and you're invited to the party!

If you are a burlesque artist currently living in Wales, are originally from Wales, or are connected to a burlesque or cabaret organisation in Wales (previously a student etc) we'd love to hear from you.

Groups are welcome.

  • You can apply with up to 2 acts
  • You may be offered 1 or 2 slots.
  • Payment is £75 per act. There is no additional payment for travel/accommodation.
  • Acts do NOT have to be welsh themed!

Open to artists from all over the world!

This would suit performers who feel they are  ‘Levelling Up’ and venturing out onto the wider burlesque circuit, rather than absolute beginners. We recognise the journey to this point is different for everyone! As a result there is no minimum/maximum stage time eligibility.

This is about YOU and your kick-ass act. Come show off for us!

 

The evening will be judged by industry professionals, and the audience will have a say in the overall vote.

  • You can apply with ONE act
  • Payment is £75. There is no additional payment for travel/accommodation.
  • The winner receives a crown, sash, prize money and an invitation to headline a future Cardiff Cabaret Show.
  • The runner-up receives a crown, sash and prize money.
